@chesaboudin and his enlightened usage of mass incarceration is a opportunity for San Francisco to be a guiding light and a world class city. No other world class civilization incarcerates as we do, If we want a law abiding society existence shouldn't be reliably illegal.

Seems prudent for @chesaboudin to do as he did to bring some lawyers hes more familiar with on his team to address his new task. Criminal justice reform, and addressing systematic problems mean more than just changing the drapes, I'm happy he changed the direction of @SFDAOffice

Open your eyes and come down to street level, it’s a different environment than the one you’ve painted for yourself. Pre-COVID, inmates were being released in hast and cases discharged without proper investigation from the DAs office. Crime in SF is nearly celebrated.

Crime is not only celebrated in america in owns industrial empires, and whole genre like rap. We absolutely should stop industrializing lawlessness. We should focus the criminal justice system on violent, property crime, or other real.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30CDHuiRCrc …

You actually support my argument that the criminal justice system, although not perfect, is not the root of the problem. And by tinkering with a criminal justice system already strife with liberalism, only worsens the problem for civilians and bystanders. Good luck with Chesa.

Thanks, I wish us all luck with him. I hope @chesaboudin produces a more lawful society, where not so many are lawless. I think he cuts towards the root of this crisis, which is in my mind the criminalization of everything.

Chesa decriminalized pissing and defecating in public, but you can still be cited for not picking up after your dog. Great reform.

I'm curious to hear your solution! SF has 20,000 unhoused residents and 25 24-hour bathrooms. Do you think citing unhoused people will keep them from urinating in public?

As far as how I would handle; drug/alcohol rehab housing with trade school education. Mental health hospitals and psychiatric treatment. Instead SF leadership believe needle exchange, heroin kits, and safe injection sites are a “solution.”

Agreed! Needle exchanges/safe injection sites are meant to be a form of harm reduction and not a solution, while the first things you talked about are the solution. That's actually Chesa's platform! Doctors should be on the front lines of public health crises, not police.
