In fact, the DA's office filed felony charges in more than 80% of the car break in cases where police made arrests in 2019.

And how many arrests and prosecutions were there out of all the vehicle break ins? Your tweet is deeply deceptive.

There were only arrests in about 1% of car break-ins. If you have an issue with that, then feel free to ask
@SFPD what exactly they're doing with their $630 million budget.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

Yea I’m aware. Just Insane that the DA is touting the city’s car break in prosecution record.

I think it's just a direct response to Jennifer who said that break-ins should be dealt with as crimes.

And does it make sense to say: “We take this seriously. That’s why 0.8% of car break-in’s have been prosecuted by my office”? That is him intentionally misleading bc if 99.2% of criminals are never pursued the city obviously isn’t taking it seriously.

He speaks for the DA's office, not the city as a whole, which is why he said "...the DA's office filed..." People keep blaming the DA for failures of policing, access to healthcare/housing, etc. It seems like a nice way for him to say -- you're barking up the wrong tree.
