Its a great article! But I think as it goes on it becomes increasingly less objective and opinion is given as fact. Often the narration blends inner monologue with spoken word, and in the absence of speech marks, and given the sensitivity of the questions this is jarring.

Agreed. M nice sometimes to only have just a HINT of what the author truly thinks - the quotes should speak for themselves.

Palin's trick was always to avoid conflict. This in and of itself angers some people because an avoidance of conflict is seen as an avoidance of the issue. It's such a tough one to call; it's something I personally struggle with a lot.
