You’re probably hearing a lot about the abortion pill lately so let me explain: It’s a safe, effective way to end a pregnancy in the privacy of your own home. You deserve that access: to privacy, to autonomy, to freedom.
Black Maternal Health Week may be over but a focus on the disparities faced by Black mothers and birthing people is critical as we continue to see climbs in their mortality rate.
The opposition never intended to stop at overturning Roe v. Wade. They want to limit reproductive health care access everywhere but do not forget — our movement is strong and we’re continuing this fight.
Thank you to the Planned Parenthood health center nurses who work so hard to ensure that people have access to the full range of reproductive health care options and accurate sexual and reproductive health information. #NationalNursesWeek
Since the overturn of Roe, there are businesses in states where abortion is illegal, providing free contraceptives at the counter. What an amazing form of community care!
The impacts of this ban will be devastating: it will force North Carolinians to travel out-of-state for basic health care and effectively shut down a crucial abortion care access point in the South for out-of-state patients.
We’ve said this before: Abortion bans have consequences. While we face a national maternal health care crisis, the increased lack of doctors in states that already have high mortality rates could see disastrous outcomes.
While I’m relieved that common sense prevailed, the people of Utah’s access to abortion should’ve never been on the line in the first place.
Abortion is essential health care.
NEW: I just signed legislation to allow pharmacists to dispense contraception over the counter & to expand medication abortion access on college campuses.
This will dramatically increase access to reproductive health care for all New Yorkers — and we’re just getting started.
I am deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Dr. Carhart, a champion for reproductive health care.
At Planned Parenthood, we will continue to honor Dr. Carhart’s legacy by keeping up the fight for abortion access.
with heavy hearts that we share this news. Dr. Carhart dedicated his whole life to providing abortion care to those who needed it with kindness, courtesy, justice, love & respect.
We will continue to work in his memory & keep abortion care accessible for those in our communities.
Medication abortion gives you the greater privacy and flexibility you deserve when seeking care. If you’re seeking access to an abortion, check out http://abortionfinder.org to find options available in your area.
This is a great explainer on last week’s SCOTUS stay in the mifepristone case. Even if you’ve been following the case closely, it can be confusing to understand all the details and what’s next:
NEW! We’re so excited to announce that Angela @FerrellZabala has been named our first-ever Executive Director of Moms Demand Action! In this role, Angela will oversee @Everytown’s grassroots advocacy efforts across the country and help craft a vision for the organization’s work.
Did I cry watching this? Yes.
And you will too, when you see the pain inflicted by the MO Attorney General on the people he's supposed to serve. But you'll also see the love, strength, and fight from our providers and patients, who sure as hell aren't backing down.
In Missouri, @PPGreatPlains scramble ahead of a state-imposed emergency order, deeply restricting access to gender affirming care.
"We are terrified. I've been afraid since I was 15," says trans patient Kharri. @CNN is with the patients and providers in Missouri, w/@annamajaCNN
Yes we have mifepristone for now, but we need to secure it for good. Our reproductive rights shouldn’t be up for judicial ping-pong —these rights affect our lives and our futures.
North Dakotans deserve access to abortion without restrictions. This near-total abortion ban is yet another piece of harmful legislation that threatens health care access and North Dakotans’ state constitutional rights.
This isn’t over.
Allowing mifepristone access to remain is the right decision from the Supreme Court.
Anti-science judges should not be making reproductive health care decisions for you.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court just issued a stay in the medication abortion case, which means that access to mifepristone remains for now.
This is good news, but the facts remain the same: Access to mifepristone should never have been in jeopardy in the first place. twitter.com/mjs_DC/status/…
We’re grateful to our champions in the Senate who stood up for veterans’ access to abortion care and blocked this dangerous resolution – but yesterday’s vote makes it clear that anti-abortion lawmakers will stop at nothing to ban abortion for everyone.
Senate blocks resolution that sought to halt abortion services provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs. https://nbcnews.com/politics/congress/senate-resolution-halt-abortion-care-veterans-affairs-fails-rcna80460?cid=sm_npd_nn_tw_ma&taid=64407cff92ddb800012bb4da&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter…
Thank you, Nancy, for sharing your story. We need lawmakers at every level of government to act to protect the right to control our bodies and futures.
Abortion bans take away the ability of women like Nancy to make decisions about their own lives.
@POTUS and I continue to call on Congress to restore the protections of Roe into federal law.
The Supreme Court has extended the administrative stay and mifepristone remains accessible until at least the 21st.
We'll do our best to share updates as they happen.

As we await yet another SCOTUS ruling in less than a year on the future of abortion access in our nation, let us not forget: You deserve to be the only one who makes decisions about your health care.
I’m so proud of what our @OpenSociety team has done in 5 years to help our partners deliver big for inclusive democracy, racial equity, antitrust, climate, and more. Long way to go, but arc feels bent.
Glad to announce that @lispahani will take over as ExDir of OSUS in July.
! She is a brilliant thinker, a strong leader, and a fighter for freedom to the end. I am bettered by her friendship. And our democracy will be better for it. Let’s go!!!
Big news at @OpenSociety today as the amazing @tomperriello announces that he will step away and the truly wonderful @lispahani will take the helm. They have been an extraordinary team at a pivotal time. I truly cannot name anyone who has done more to protect our democracy.
As of last Friday, we await yet another SCOTUS ruling.
Patients deserve to access the medication they need, and providers should be able to provide that medication without interference from politicians OR judges.
Blocking the Fifth Circuit’s anti-science ruling to restrict access to mifepristone is the right move. Let’s be clear: No court should have been able to restrict access in the first place.
No matter what the courts decide,

Under Florida’s 6-week abortion ban, patients will be forced to travel hundreds — if not thousands — of miles out of state to access care, or remain pregnant against their will.
Floridians are being robbed of their freedom by the state.
This isn't over. cc:
NEW: All that’s left for a six-week abortion ban to become law in Florida is Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis’ signature. https://huffpost.com/entry/florida-abortion-ban-ron-desantis_n_643566e1e4b0859acb960553?d_id=5711865&ncid_tag=tweetlnkushpmg00000016&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter&utm_campaign=us_politics…
Great news 👏🤩
For the first time DACA recipients will be able to receive access to critical federal health insurance services through Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act.
Everyone, no matter their immigration status, deserves access to affordable health coverage.
Today, my Administration is announcing our plan to expand health coverage for Dreamers, the thousands of young people brought to the U.S. as kids.
We’re not done fighting for their pathway to citizenship, but we're getting them the opportunities they deserve in the meantime.
— the Supreme Court must protect access to mifepristone.
No judge should be able to substitute their judgment for the FDA and restrict access to a safe and effective medicine.
BREAKING: @TheJusticeDept is going to the Supreme Court to step in and protect access to mifepristone.
While access is still in jeopardy, one thing remains clear: You deserve the right to make decisions about your own health care. twitter.com/TheJusticeDept…
We are furious. Another court has chosen to jeopardize the health and futures of people who rely on mifepristone for abortion care.
This is the second court in a week that has ruled to restrict access to abortion care, and we won’t stand for it.
Last night, the 5th Circuit ruled on access to mifepristone—and for the 2nd time, a court rejected science, deciding they have the authority to rewrite mifepristone’s label.
While FDA approval of mifepristone is still in grave jeopardy, access remains safe as challenges continue. twitter.com/CAKitchener/st…
Convention! The timing is perfect to dig into the scope of reproductive care and the fight for access — especially for Black and Brown women. Watch live 👇🏾
Blocking access to mifepristone is an attack on the legitimacy of our entire drug approval system.
