50 seats for the SNP in Westminster, people are saying. Makes the thought of an actual left-wing government seem almost worth entertaining.

Key thing about opinion polls is to look for trends & the bigger picture - ONE poll giving Ukip 17% means very little. 2 or 3 mean more.
