When the phrase “against their will” is used, normal people think of coercion and abuse of power — not consensual relationships between equals.
Would Franken have resigned his Senate seat if he felt that he was innocent of the accusations? Or did he know that more revelations were a possibility and that he and his family decided that it wasn't worth putting them through the inevitable embarrassment and humiliation?
Just because 29 women who appeared on SNL signed an affidavit saying that he didn't behave in a way that made them uncomfortable, it doesn't mean that he was blameless with other women. Some sexual harassers are strategic, groping a woman on the set SNL would be risky.
Yeah, that would be risky. So instead he did all of his in public places with photographers. None of which were even interviewed much less corroborated anything. (Seriously, serial harassers go for privacy, target subordinates, etc. Also, none of which was even alleged here.)
