I've talked to three founders this week who decided to move TO San Francisco to start their companies.
SF Bay Area will still be a magnet for a meaningful proportion of the most talented and ambitious people in the world. Some people will leave. But amazing people will take their place. The short-term of SF might look weak, but the long-term is still very strong.

SF Bay Area never had (and still doesn’t have) the best talent in the world. 99% of the world’s best talent exists outside of SF, we just have never had (and still don’t really have) great ways to find and work with those people

True, because unfortunately employers ask “Where are you from/based?” And when they hear a non-SF place, they say “oh nice” and then go on to hire their mild-acquaintance from SF.
