This is a great idea. Could potentially bring in more revenue too, just charge some extra money for that feature!
Uber should make a feature to allow riders to select the route.
The amount of frustration from arguing with your Uber driver on routes is the largest driver of dissatisfaction for me.
And I already could "implement" this by incrementally changing the destination.

Do you want to select the route because you know of a shorter route or is there another reason?

A few months ago the 3rd st bridge in SF was closed, and Uber/Lyft would still navigate you through there, delaying a 20 minute drive by 15+ minutes. Other reasons include a more scenic route, like along Embarcadero. Far less stressful of a drive too (e.g. compared to 3rd st)

It seems everyone changing their routes would break the upfront pricing feature to some extent. Then Uber can justifiably charge more money for the route changing feature. I think it could work well for both Uber and the riders
