    Great analysis. Next step: Crisis management! The need to be addressed to ensure food security 4 all: Climate, Conflict, Covid & Costs. It’s too risky to only rely on open markets! Waiting increases hunger.

    Global agricultural markets & potential scenarios. published an information note assessing the current situation & alerting on factors (e.g: trade, prices, logistics, fertilizers, etc.) that could impact markets´ behavior & scale food insecurity. 📌

    All indicators are on alert! High food & energy prices, very expensive & scarce inputs, big insecurity in trade, not enough money for Just hoping for (open) markets will not be enough. Active management of the crisis is needed - under very difficult geopolitical conditions!

    We just developed new forecasts in wake of for the team sharing here for everyone else. The income required for basic food baskets at markets in Africa and the Middle East will be sky-high for Apr-Jun' 22. This is a crisis on top of a crisis

    Global supply chains are key! What if a real disruption is happening or if very high prices for food & inputs will increase hunger and poverty? & member countries have work on plans for crisis management.

    Keeping global supply chains open is key to averting a food crisis as a result of the war in Ukraine. We must remember that the most vulnerable are the hardest hit. Minimizing the impact of higher fertilizer prices will also help prevent production shortages in the next 2 years.

    Große Koalition hat ganzen -Prozess für zugunsten der Stromkonzerne umgebaut. Für kleinere Bürgerprojekte ist seither von Genehmigung bis Betrieb alles viel schwerer, s. Trotzdem Anteil der Stromkonzerne bei mickrigen 6%.

    We need a global governance “where nations come together at the highest level to improve the resilience of the food systems”. 👍And this should include also early warning & action systems against climate related pest outbreaks:

    Governments need to do everything in their power to ensure for Ukrainian citizens - and step up social protections to insulate vulnerable people from rising food prices worldwide.
