Wow. This is scary. But a future where we accept what the companies are trying to do— low paid, freelancer writing gigs with no job security— is much scarier. You can’t make good art that way. And writers generate far too much profit for them to accept it. So, I’m on strike!

Google, through its My Maps platform, has shut down a series of invaluable maps (including 's) that contained hundreds of thousands of data points on events in the war in Ukraine, with some data going back to 2014l. Just completely illogical for why they'd do this.

Six people took to the crosswalk around 8a, bringing northbound lanes out of the tunnel to a halt for around a half-hour. If seem familiar, they’ve staged multiple roadblocks in recent years on I-395 and I-495. They’re back for new round of protests this week.

Earth Day protest was chanting in D.C.’s Lafayette Square when the skies opened up. Marchers weren’t deterred by the storm and kept moving. Luckily my gear is weather-sealed. My shoes, not so much.
