Well the kernel component is supposed to be running 24/7 which raises a privacy question of what it does and what it collects, you can stop the service but I'd imagine the game wouldn't like that once you try to go play. 1/2

But the privacy question is somewhat of a bad point, as any malicious actor (in this case people are saying its a chinese spying driver because Tencent owns Riot.) could collect more than enough of your data in user mode from disk, while the game is running 1/(more than 2)

effectively meaning that doing any sort of spying on you from kernel would be jumping through extra and unnecessary hoops. But there's a lot of paranoia regarding the subject, even though almost every other anti-cheat is in kernel and a few like Faceit or ESEA load on startup.
