    Rest and giving attention to non-work related priorities is number one for me in this season. And to get there, boundaries with others and honesty with self is the key. Sharing this here to hold myself accountable. And to give us all permission to create boundaries if we can.

    Hard because we’re conditioned to respond to other people’s timeline & urgent agenda while not paying attention to our own. Hard because many aren’t afforded the privilege of time off & rest. Which is crazy that those things have become luxuries. Capitalism is destroying us.

    My business, 1063 West Broad, is not doing any work until January 11, 2021*. Being clear about those boundaries (like redirecting first week of Jan meeting requests until after this date) has been hard, but necessary. *with the exception of two small things.

    296 days after our first case of COVID in New York City, I got the Moderna vaccine in Yuma, Arizona amid my 3rd surge. The end is near, but I must remain vigilant throughout 2021 because I can still infect my family. Looking forward to day we're all vaccinated!

    To be clear: $600 isn’t enough. $2000 isn’t enough. $4000 - $6000 a month per household for those making less than $500K annual is just getting there. Universal basic income isn’t a luxury. It’s critical and vital.

    Our race is not a risk factor. It’s racism that continues to kill us.

    We lost another doctor today To COVID But this doctor was mistreated. Her symptoms were ignored, downplayed and dismissed. She posted a heartbreaking video begging her fellow doctors to help save her... She called the patient advocate... She called the chief medical officer...

    Bharat has a natural instinct to bring people along and he’s very focused on the end goal of making change. I relied on his counsel as we worked together to expand access to housing, protect consumers, and hold cheaters accountable. He is an excellent choice for the NEC.
