Looks cool! What kinds of things should the Swift compiler do to make Swift more suitable for embedded systems like this?

Thanks! My #1 is still code size: dead code elimination across modules would be great (Swift's metadata tie everything up so linker can't remove much). Otherwise, for example, a parallel to `volatile` to prevent optimizing-out access to peripherals

Cool! +3172 -273 doesn’t seem too bad: https://github.com/apple/swift/compare/swift-5.1-branch ……swift-embedded:embedded-5.1 Have you thought about trying to upstream this?
-
I have, but I think it should prove itself first and then we should consider upstreaming it

what about web browsers for example via transpiler Swift-to-web-assembly?

There are people working on that too: https://swiftwasm.org

Great work! There is also another project by
@carl_the_dev that compiles#Swift to an ATmega328. Check it out at http://swiftforarduino.com .Hvala. Twitter će to iskoristiti za poboljšanje vaše vremenske crte. PoništiPoništi

It’s very hard to install swift & compile on windows. True open source projects should be frictionless as possible. Apple is not that good at creating great open source projects but they r the most benifitiary of it.
