There's two realities here: one is as you say, how we live and love and exist with others, but then there's the reality that is not resulting from that - the fact there is a war in Ukraine is as a result of the disregard for that first reality. Power trumps (!) personal action?

Yes, but violence is of the short temporal wavelength. We do the work of peace, Dorothy Day's "works of mercy", on the long wave.
