We demand Italian authorities to take responsibility for the ~430 people in danger & to bring them to safety in Europe. The intervention of Libyan or Tunisian authorities would lead to panic on board & high risks of the boat capsizing. @guardiacostiera can prevent a tragedy!

We just spoke to the ~430 people in distress. They say the waves are high & water is entering the boat. They say they are in danger & call for help. It seems they have managed to move further but they can capsize at any time & people in the lower deck might suffocate. RESCUE NOW!

We are in regular contact with the ~430 people in distress who now seem to have moved forward to Malta SAR zone. There’s panic on board and they say people are dying & are urgently asking for help.
Authorities are not responding & there is no rescue in sight. #DontLetThemDrownpic.twitter.com/PnAPGcwN2G

We were in constant contact with the ~430 people during the night. The boat is slowly breaking apart, water entered already and 3 people are reported dead so far. #Europe's authorities are "monitoring" but don't rescue. A#shipwreck is unfolding in front of your eyes!!Show this thread -
The situation onboard is becoming increasingly dramatic: more people have reportedly died. The people on board say that the Tunisian coastguard arrived but doesn't intervene. What we see is collective non-assistance at sea! We demand their immediate rescue!

24 hours after our first alert, the Tunisian navy told us that they just sent 4 assets to the ~430 people in distress & that a rescue operation is ongoing. The boat is in an area under Malta responsibility & the people should be taken to Europe.
#Tunisia is not safe for migrants!Show this thread -
We lost contact to the ~430 people some hours ago. According to authorities, they are being rescued by the Tunisian coastguard. It remains unclear if people are well & where they are now. We demand answers for the many friends & relatives who are asking about their loved ones!

The Tunisian authorities have informed us that over 430 people were rescued off the boat in distress. According to them, there are no fatalities. We hope this is true and are relieved this did not end in a mass shipwreck as European authorities shamefully ignored their distress.

More than 400 people in danger in International waters! The people on the overcrowded boat said it is sinking. We alerted authorities but Italy said they are not responsible for the area. Such a big boat cannot be handled by the so-called Libyan coastguard without loss of life
