Today, we remember the dead & missing of the 11 October 2013 shipwreck, when 268 people died in the #Mediterranean, because rescue efforts were delayed. One year later, on 11 October 2014, we started the Alarm Phone.pic.twitter.com/d2zBSzoQsb
Despite the public outcry after that shipwreck, the violent border regime that caused those deaths is still present & thousands of lives were lost at sea since. Most of these deaths could have been prevented, if only the border regime that caused them would have been abolished.
