    Everyone is doing end of year 'best game' things. I didn't play many new releases but I did play 496 games from the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality. Here are the 5 I had the most fun with and why.

    It's a lot of years since I last even attempted to go through all the Lone Wolf books (excluding New Order because (1) they're not as good and (2) I don't own them all anyway). Maybe I'll start on that during the Easter break.

    Am I the only person wondering what happens when we get to the next general election? I don't want to sound conspiracy theorist, but at this point I'm starting to think Johnson might try to find a way of delaying, and then delaying again, and...

    This is a lot of what's being going on in Johnson's government. Ministers being caught doing something awful, then basically just shrugging and carrying on.

    An awful lot of what was holding the our non-constitution together was politicians feeling ashamed when caught in a flagrant lie or misuse of power. But, as it turns out, you can actually get out of almost any scandal by just not feeling at all bad about being a total bastard.

    Rogue Sea. The piratey look is nice, and it's briefly fun to zip around and blast ships. There isn't a lot here though. It's mostly about collecting coconuts by bumping designated islands. I'm glad to see someone try this, it just doesn't offer more than a few minutes of play.

    If there's one thing I've learnt from playing D&D 5e it's that choosing new spells is the best thing about gaining a level. No one wants to level up a non-spellcaster, it's boring 90% of the time, just roll a die for HP. Bleh.

    Found Magic. Cast spells by typing keywords: accurate=powerful, fast=cheap. Gain MP and elements for more spells by melee - a dangerous tightrope of hanging back to cast and getting in close to replenish, but at risk. One core idea done well is the hallmark of a solid 7DRL.

    The Salvager. Pretty standard rogueliking, though the unforgiving O2 meter combined with spongey foes lends it some tension. Or would, but the generation needs work - out of 5 plays, in 3 of them the objective of the game was in the first room next to the start point. Oops.
