The quote is vague enough. Maybe he dropped it and it bounced or rolled into his shins. Maybe it was horseplay between he and his cop buddies just throwing tear gas cannisters at each other. We need the full police statement on the cops' tear gas related injuries.

Is it gauche or terrible of me to wonder that if they absolutely insist on daily confrontation why do they not insist on being provided with. shin guards? They have tanks and such. This is a lame propaganda play for public sympathy, in their fight against "brutal" protestors.
