    No, new waves of SARS-CoV-2 infections are not being "driven by" Delta, or any other variant. Viruses are non-motile. They don't drive anything. Non-immune humans breathing in each others faces drive the spread of this one.

        Some new variants might have greater biological fitness, or different pathogenesis, or might even survive better between hosts - but those are separate, still unresolved questions. They're still respiratory viruses, and the same non-pharma interventions should still stop them.

        .. depends on where you put the system borders (also, viruses inside cells are not immotile). What you say is true only of virions, but virions do not cause disease (as they are immotile), so that is clearly a too restrictive definition <- /me trolling AD about def of «live» :-)

        $1 Lick-A-Stick would have stopped this months ago and would protect those unvaccinated today. Where is the investigative report on why the FDA has not licensed them?
