    This is such a Good Thread about shade, public space, trees, gentrification, all the good stuff.

    Guess where that isn’t a problem? Hancock Park, one of L.A.’s richest neighborhoods, where developers undergrounded all the powerlines. It’s right in the middle of the city, and you can see the tree disparity easily from the air. 16/

    No, I can do this. I just need to do more meal prep. I'm gonna get up early, go get a gallon of ice cream and then cut it half and eat it right out of the trough. I'll save the other half for tomorrow night.

    And I've quit a lot of things lately, things I like a lot more than . Like I quit smoking delicious cigarettes, I quit eating logging trucks full of licorice, I quit being lazy & joined EXERCISE CULT. How much change can one hot sorta middle-aged woman absorb.

    I have two more days of this & though I am not a quitter, I think I should quit, right? I should quit. I mean crippling acid reflux is fine, it's cool. At least I'm not *hungry* I'd have to get up with the morning weirdies, eat a large breakfast & then go to exercise cult? Hard.

    In a discussion about corporations patenting potatoes & suing farmers I’m perplexed by the characters rushing to defend corporations patenting genetic material like they’re entitled to make money—regardless of the calamitous implications of owning genetic sequences & processes.

    I get why girls are pushing into Boy Scouts but I feel ill when I read stories about it. I worked for Girl Scouts in a rural area & there is nothing in Boy Scout program that you can’t get in Girl Scouts if you want it—with more inclusiveness & support. BSA is fundamentally yuck.
