A country like India must learn to handle diversity instead of letting innocent lives be lost in communal politics.

  2. The Brahmin experience of the State in last 71 years has never been the same as that of other groups. When they never experienced state sponsored hate, repression and violence, how are they hijacking all discourse? You do not speak for others or tell them how to think. Nope.

How easy it is for a Sinhala Buddhist to tell a minority to "forget about the past. Move on!" when his/her interested are protected by the state. You aren't even ready to acknowledge our sufferings. You just want us to move on, so you can keep on doing what you have been doing.

  4. That is what the dominant majority, agents and apologists of oppressors do all the time in every part of the world. Will always beg to 'move on' or claim everyone has already 'moved on and is happy'

  5. I thought people would have read posts of Sikhs or watched videos, interviews of Sikhs. But it seems they did not. Okay, will post videos, links tomorrow, to bust the BS that Sikhs are 'happy go lucky people who moved on and now do charity for fun'.

  6. Just because of your bias, our small numbers, you CHOSE NOT to listen to us or read us, it doesn't mean we didn't speak up and make it clear why we resist and what all we remember and fight for.

  7. There are countless videos of Sikh activists speaking out on CAA, NRC or present govt. It is YOUR BIAS that you choose to ignore what they say and why they say what they do

  8. You can watch videos of Sikhs at anti CAA, NRC protests, dharnas on Youtube. Each activist narrates the shared trauma and fears. We are not here because 'we are happy-go-lucky people who moved on and now do charity'. We here, because we know the pain and injustice. ✊

  14. Sab sahe mast rahe is NOT a compliment but an attempt to make you enjoy your own oppression. Never buy into it. Unless you suffer from Stockholm syndrome and desperate desire for approval from others in dominant positions.

  15. These men saying 'happy and moved on, despite such a bloody, painful history' are the same who beat their wives daily but still say their wives are happy with them. 'Yeah I beat her, but she is happiest with me and loves me'.

  20. Only the only who tolerate everything or forget, pretend nothing happened, are to be called 'happy', and even if they are sad and helpless or cynical from within, the elite dominant groups will declare 'they moved on'. To feel better about own shitty track record.

  21. One of the ways oppressors and their apologists like to maintain status quo, is by claiming the oppressed moved on, deliberately ignore every struggle for justice and call ones raising voice against injustice as 'vultures living in victimhood' or anti national.
