On Friday, we learned the official diagnosis + treatment plan. Tim has Diffuse Large B-Cell Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, which is the most common. It is aggressive, stage 4, and it’s in the bone/bone marrow. While this sounds scary, his chances for cure are VERY good.

Doctor said he should be living another 40-60 years if all goes to plan. His first round of Chemo starts this Friday, the 18th, and it will be an all-day infusion — and thankfully it is outpatient. They will also allow a visitor so I’ll be with him!

As the doctor said, this was the best possible outcome from what we were looking at, he even said “congratulations” when giving us the news. He was not expecting (but was hoping) it would be Lymphoma over other cancer possibilities.

They have reiterated over and over that Tim’s age, as well as health and fitness level are going to make a huge difference in his recovery. For those that didn’t know: Tim had been experiencing severe back pain and was seeking orthopedic care.

By the time he was scheduled for his MRI his symptoms had escalated and suddenly he was unable to urinate. He went to the ER Friday afternoon (12/4) & was in surgery the next morning to remove tumors on his spinal cord. I wasn't able to be with him during his 5 day hospital stay.

It’s been a rollercoaster for us these past 10 days, especially as we waited for the pathology results to trickle in, but we are so incredibly grateful to our friends and family who have given us so much help, support, prayers, and love.
