A women’s perspective is often interesting to me. My wife brought up that Orlando Bloom’s love interest in #CarnivalRow is 27 to his 42. She blamed #Hollywood for always casting the woman of the story with a youthful vigor that the men aren’t required to have.
I think a lot of age distant relationships are probably fine. Don’t get me wrong. Once your brain fully forms near your mid 20s I feel like you can do what you want. Younger than that I’m pretty iffy about. Most people don’t even know who they are till 23-24 anyway.
The casting of these actors is a weird standard that I wonder if it wears down my female counterparts. I understand that movies are a visual medium and you’re portraying a visual idea. That #CarnivalRow specifically is fantasy and that the idea of something needs to be conveyed.
