Some guy’s twisted notion of being an “actual geek/nerd” is that we need to prove we were bullied and use that rage and negative emotion to spread more negativity and hate around. Lol keep nerding on folks and share with me what you’re currently nerding out about!
Prefacing this with I don’t agree with this because times have changed but it’s taken society quite some time to accept geeks or nerds in the same way that they do today. It use to be that geeking out on comics or D&D or being smart was a life long sentence of ridicule.

And by saying this I imagine that that they want struggle to be recognized. It’s hard for people to relinquish what they feel they have earned.

When I was a kid I never would have imagined comic book movies like we have now. We have guardians of the galaxy and ant man for Pete’s sake. D&D is mainstream in a way that is mind boggling. Sitting around with your buds and making pretend would get your ass kicked.

Yeah. I remember being ostracized for reading chapter books in first grade lol. The dude basically said we need to use our rage to bully others to make them feel the pain we felt. I don’t agree with that.

And I agree with you. I don’t think we should ostracize people for liking what they like. We should embrace them. This is an amazing time to be alive.
