Why?

Imagine you work for Google in some other city and are paid 50% less than employees in San Francisco (salaries are crazy there). Someone who worked there move next door to you, doing the same job as you, for the same company, for double what you make.

That's why these tech companies have made their campuses into damn near mini-towns. They don't want you going home.

What a deal.. increased productivity and reduced costs. Profits will go up even more. Buy the stock. Tech companies have become the best exploiters of humans - their workers and their users. Congratulations!

I don’t buy the reduced cost. As someone who has been home based for a long time, my company has to pay for my laptop, my phone, my phone plan, my internet, and my mileage whenever I have to go into the office. Considering those costs are baked into the office…

This past year showed productivity increased when people worked from home. So essentially, companies are trying to pay less for more work. All while the majority of this country isn't getting paid enough to begin with.

I’ve been wondering about this. Do you have source?
