A Virginia principal is apologizing after students were instructed to play a Black History Month "game" where they pretended to be runaway slaves navigating the Underground Railroad. Kids at Madison's Trust Elementary School played the game during gym classes.

Virginia actually has a history of racism. A long one, at that. Even then, this is shambolic and only perpetuates racist tropes and symbols. Apparently, the whole Northam scandal wasn’t enough. Everyone needs to do better.

A relative of Robert E Lee, made a documentary on al jazeera which included a re-enactment of the forced march of slave removed from slave ships in the night. I'm in my late 50s and it was deeply disturbing just watching it. Something like this should be voluntary and adults only
