It’s been a year since I left academia. This transition pushed me to change and learn a ton about myself. Here are a few thoughts on what’s made the biggest impact on me:

Sometimes, it’s hard to tell what a mouse M1 neuron does from its PSTH. Each sweep is a reach, dots are spikes, and red and blue are high and low spike density, respectively. The left cell fires during grasp, and the right one fires during hand opening and is suppressed at grasp.

Our 2nd insula paper is out in ! We found that insular cortex represents current bodily state AND uses external cues to “simulate” future changes to bodily physiology – “How do I feel?” + “How will this make me feel?” More in THREAD…1/7
