Fertiliser on tap, checking out our self-service silo at Seales Winslow, south of Ashburton. We now have 6 across the country. Farmers and spreaders can access fertiliser outside of normal office hours

Great to be a part of this 3 year project on Fodder Beet fertiliser use. Fertiliser can be greatly reduced without yield penalties.

Every month we get the growth data from Woodlands, Southland. Overtime this information can make for some interesting viewing. Just look at the massive hole our mates down in are dealing with at the moment.

We just didn't have spring, what can we say? 😂😭🤷‍♀️It's been feeling slightly better these last few weeks though. What also isn't shown is the impact on crops here. Around 60 growing days lost. Hoping for some compensatory growth. 1st pic 16 Dec, 2nd pic yesterday of same crop

Just a wee shout out to the Ballance Farm Environmental Awards. We have just been through the judging process and throughly enjoyed the process. It wasn’t arduous like we first suspected and really enjoyed the discussion had on farm visits.

Leaf miner has been prevalent in brassicas this season. If your turnips don’t look like this pre grazing, you may want to reconsider your insecticide programme and incorporate IPM insecticides for long term protection. – mjesto: Pio Pio

Smoke which has travelled around 2,000km across the Tasman Sea can clearly be seen over the lower South Island. Visibility in the smoke haze is as low as 10km in the worst affected areas. Southwesterlies are expected to gradually flush the smoke laden air away from late today ^AC

All logical! Soil test in the worst area showed a pH of 4.4, resulting in plant tissue tests having manganese and iron levels through the roof = toxic. Likely caused by erosion of the top soil and exposing the subsurface. This is from a recent rain event. Will retire the area
