There's no logic in mutilating someone on the off chance that it might prevent a lesser problem down the road though. Otherwise why not just start lopping off all kinds of "non-essential" bits? Breasts? Might get cancer! Testicles? Torsion can kill! Limbs? Might break a bone!

I'm also not against leaving it up to the parents, provided that the entire medical industry isn't pressuring them to make the decision in a certain way when the benefits are debatable and the drawbacks obvious. I guess what my "side" needs is to push back and research more.

I get that, I'm just on the fence a bit between the lolbert and fashy solutions. Ideally we wouldn't have to make it illegal, because everyone would think it's barbaric
