It's a refusal to think dialectically or multi-factorially - the line from misogyny to murder is (obviously) mediated by multiple personal, contextual, social, economic issues. Reducing murder to the wrong "beliefs" reinforces liberal logic that crime emanates from bad morals.

It's an issue with gender politics than I consistently hit my head on - ephemeral attitudes/beliefs are given tremendous causative power, while material inequalities are ignored (including those that nurture and sustain violent, alienated masculinities)
Yep! Same with racial politics, ideas are given mystical force in abstraction from their material context. It’s infuriating.
