From my experience diet, hormones, life changes all impact sleep. I had kids late in my 40s but at the same time got a crash course in understanding the r’ship between insulin, cortisol. I cut down carbs, my husband is keto. 1/

I have found that a keto diet also seems to help with managing mood. Given that it is often used for epileptics and there is a lot of use of epileptic medications used for bipolar, it seems to track. Glad you found something that works for you!

I think it has to do with the amount of sugar you cut out. I gave up sugar years ago when I noticed how moody it made me. I found myself getting irritable when I didn't get enough sugar. Then I'd crash from consuming too much. No wonder food companies put sugar in everything.

i think so anecdotally, that's when i'm hearing from folks when i talk about it but if you internet search it's hard to find any scientific research about it.
