Lots of details to this story, and there are some devils in there. We'd love it if you had thoughts to share, especially suggestions for how to improve the work or a different take.

She uses a large sample of midlife adults (N~370), with over 20,000 task strain observations and over 10,000 social interaction observations. She finds sig effects for both social support and personality, but in the end personality (mainly Neuroticism) has the unique effects.

So, are other fields' licensing exams full of questions about who came up with/theoreixed about/or designed a specific idea or intervention? Like do MDs have to answer who developed CPR? Or do they just have to know it?

For those who’ve taken the EPPP, how many Freudian Structure Theory questions did you get?

If effect sizes in psychology lab studies are not a reflection of reality, then we are studying things that are not real or we are studying real things in the wrong way.

Important thread about the total cost of a funded PhD program. You can spend a lot of time wondering, why does it seem easier for so and so (?) Or why is this so hard for me (?), dont discount the struggles of being poor, it makes everything harder, funded PhD programs included.

At least it reinforces that I’m on sabbatical to colleagues and collaborators when it seems like I only sporadically and arbitrarily respond to emails on threads.

Got a new computer this week. I’ve been happily sending and replying to emails all week like we do. But started getting some strange urgent notes by EOD yesterday. Turned out I effed up my email client somehow and my emails weren’t sending all week. Sweet.

Does anyone have an example NIH Diversity Supplement they'd be willing to share, in full or in part? Preferably for a postgrad trainee, but any would be great. Please RT for reach—this student has lots to contribute to clinical science, please help us keep her here!

This is a nice paper. It needed to be written, and it seems like they did a really nice job with it.
