I've learned that empathy is not a buzz word. When I took the time to listen to journalists, read their work, and frame a story for them. I always got great coverage. With UX, this is the same. When I listen to users. Read their feedback or talk to them, the impact is HUGE!

And, I also a strong believer that explaining your process is THE thing. We often come with a solution but with UX, the process counts. People always believe that writing is easy. When you show the process, it becomes clear that this is work. This is also easier to document.
