Hey #uxwriting folks
Tips on a better collab with designers using @figmadesign?
I know @prinsesgreta creates a new page and plays around with copy versions.
What else you've got?

We can also make it easy to show old/new text in the design: duplicate a particular text box, hide the original, and put new text in the visible one.
-
Also, we can suggest new versions of the whole flow, by copying the whole dang thing on the same page, and putting notes above/below the frames

I’ve also done that (create new versions to test out different copy options). But also see this (as collab issues I’ve had in the past have mostly been people and trust-related)https://link.medium.com/5hyJ9gxfC6

I like everyone’s suggestions to play with content in situ. But also get comfortable with and adept at commenting. The back and forth of comment threads is valuable as it allows for iteration based on input. Irritating sometimes? Yes. But important strategically.

that's a great point! We need to find a way to track changes not only from a version control perspective but also from a design decision standpoint. Thanks!

I like the product designer and I to co-own the figma file. It’s about creating that relationship where neither of you are too precious. I’ll tidy up any content they write. They’ll tidy up any layout or UI elements I incorporate.

When you have that kinda relationship you might not need to worry about creating your own duplicates – a design change and a comment might do. Remember figma is version controlled, so I say go nuts.
