I'm SO tired of this popping up all the time. It's misleading, intentionally inflammatory, and is painting the different landscapes of professional writing with a VERY broad brush.

Thank you! People usually roll their eyes when I answer every question with “well, I depends...”

But that is always the first part of the answer. We grow up and learn to think in absolutes and we just don’t realize all the potential that’s right smack in the middle.
