  17. That pattern ("show me exactly what is expected and I will pull those levers") doesn't teach intellectual self-sufficiency. It makes automatons who are afraid to think for themselves.

  18. I think AP classes may be bad for HS kids. Being in an AP class teaches the student to work really hard to understand how the exam will be structured. It teaches rote, structural mechanics. It doesn't, as far as I can tell, teach any critical thinking or analysis skills.

  20. The constitution is not the bible. It is a legal document that can change and has changed before*. The writers of the constitution are not gods. We need to stop treating the constitution as a religious object. *The bible has changed, too, but let's leave that aside.
