It's a movement of organizations and people who are mission-driven, collaborative, and participatory, and are transforming both how journalism and civic information are produced and who they serves.

We interviewed more than 50 practitioners and experts and came away convinced that there is a new movement of civic media organizations and practitioners rising and ready to take on the crisis in our local democracies triggered by the fall of newspapers.

There are as many different Twitters as there are Twitter users. That's the genius of it! Which is why it's probably uniquely bad to have it run by someone whose core superpower / Achilles' heel appears to be stubbornly seeing the world only through their own narrow pov.
