    Yes, "secrecy is toxic" & one of the major themes of my and Amy Langenberg's research on sexual violations in American Buddhism is the emergence of an "ethics of transparency." But it's also important to see the ways in which transparency itself can be strategic or performative

    All great points. I'm also honestly not being smart arsed or cynical (ok maybe a bit cynical) but I'm really interested in the linkage of social power in its multiple forms -patriarchy / class currency-is tied to spiritual power- grace, blessings etc. can they be uncoupled?
