Welp. Enjoy the Drafts Today widget while it lasts. Apple has required me to re-submit w/o the buttons to create drafts or open the app…

@agiletortoise So no buttons at all or still the + clipboard one?

@johnvoorhees No buttons. I was told the Today view is for information presentation only, essentially.

@agiletortoise @johnvoorhees Wow. Basically all widgets I use are interactive. Sadly, I think Apple is disconnected here.

@schneid3306 @agiletortoise Still early days. Worth waiting seeking how it will play out but it's rough dealing with the uncertainty.

@johnvoorhees @agiletortoise Yup. Just frustrated as an end user and seeing these really great devs somewhat limited, ya know?

@schneid3306 @agiletortoise I get it. It chills the whole development process. No one wants to work on something that gets yanked later.

@agiletortoise Makes it hard to understand why a UIButton is even available to today widgets, other than maybe to collapse views.

      2. John Voorhees ‏@johnvoorhees 2 Dec 2014

@agiletortoise Ugh. One of the best parts of today widgets is having them available from an app that doesn’t have an extension.

@agiletortoise @johnvoorhees I wonder when the Reminders today widget will remove its ‘complete item’ buttons.

@blackp @agiletortoise Just speculation, but maybe interacting with content to go to the source app is ok vs. adding content from the widget

@agiletortoise @johnvoorhees so … in other words, all the useful widgets are in violation of the policy. That’s annoying.

@agiletortoise Sans Fantastical, I got rid of all my “Information Only” widgets.

@agiletortoise @johnvoorhees doesn't the Stocks Widget open the Stocks app when tapping on a row? How come this is not allowed!
