This was by design. They couldn't get single payer through even the Democrat-controlled Congress, so they built it to fail and put us on this path.

To be fair, there's been an increase in HDHPs combined with HSAs, which might not really be a bad thing (well, for me at least). Removal of *choices* and insurance plans that were self-evidently sustainable and preferred by some is of course extremely bad.

The Dems lied deliberately about this. They knew premiums and copays would go up. They wanted nationalized health care. More chances for graft.

BTW, all other things being equal an increase in deductibles is probably a good thing because it means insurance is acting more like insurance and less like an HMO. But of course D's can't make that (correct) response.
