Interesting story. I do wish it would've mentioned the mass deportations that the Biden administration conducted of Haitians in Del Rio last September. Important context. While the administration has rolled back some policies it just expanded Title 42 to apply to Venezuelans.

New: Under a new deal reached between the U.S. and Mexico, DHS may begin expelling Venezuelans back into Mexico as soon as today if they don't have someone to sponsor them here in the U.S. Even if they claim asylum, even if they come to a legal port of entry.

Michael Sheppard was the warden at the West Texas Detention Center right up until he was arrested for allegedly shooting two immigrants. In 2018, African immigrants accused him of racism & abuse at the ICE facility, it's unclear what came of the complaints.

Most, if not all, the details from the affidavits have been reported but in one part Mark Sheppard told investigators that his brother thought he was shooting at a javelina. Sheppard told authorities he asked his brother "did you get him?" But later changed "him" to "it."
