    Who knew I'd spend 2020 reading about toilet plumes? But this thread is exactly right. Yes, shut the lid if you can (there are other pathogens besides CoV!), but if you're in public, prudent to be quick just in case but no need to freak out.         I think I had heard on TWIV that there was one lab that has isolated virus, not just RNA, from feces in infected patients. Not sure about viral load tho, and your probably right, not a major source of transmission.

        Yes, I think that's been done but that's not the same as infectious virus that is present in aerosols.
