From several commenters, "why aren't you yelling about these protestors?" I'm worried about them, yes. But if you see no difference between people protesting for their ability to get a haircut during a pandemic vs. fighting against being murdered by police, I can't help you.

Please, anyone point out where I said here that the virus will differentially spread. *That's exactly why I'm concerned.* One big difference also is that current protestors are also largely wearing masks & distancing when able, which will help minimize spread.

Well said Dr. Smith! I would also suggest your critics explore the amazing concept of context. Centuries of systemic racism and racial violence inform the present, including who suffers the most from COVID’s ravages

"The amazing concept of context" -- beautiful. Anyway, there are PLENTY of Other people discussing The Events. Which will doubtless result in quite an uptick in covid19 cases in a few weeks.

With all due respect, I don’t think that’s what these particular people are doing. And... you can hear lots of coughing in the video https://twitter.com/ajjanavelnews/status/1266871014639546368?s=21 …https://twitter.com/ajjanavelnews/status/1266871014639546368 …

Respectfully, this thinking especially from health experts is part of the reason we are in this mess. Some of the protestors against lockdowns were there because they were worried about feeding their family or their business was destroyed. Health advice should be apolitical.

Yet they support legislators who have destroyed our social safety net. Let's start there so they wouldn't have to worry about losing their business or health care, like basically every other wealthy country.

The only thing i will add is that we might have better communication if we didn't assume Covid protesters just want haircuts. I don't agree with them, because most of them don't even respect the disease. But some of them want to reopen their business and be able to pay employees.
