So frustrating, just days after our article on #Covid19 and the patriarchy came out. Journalists, Dr. Rasmussen has a huge list of sources in her thread, and others have been shared since the start of the pandemic. Why still so many stories on the men alone?https://twitter.com/angie_rasmussen/status/1262045994121756672 …

Well, another weekend, another fawning feature from a major newspaper about an all-white-cis-male panel of #SARSCoV2 #COVID19 #coronavirus. https://www.wsj.com/articles/doctors-are-tweeting-about-coronavirus-to-make-facts-go-viral-11589558880 …

It's fantastic that Dr. Watcher jumped on board in March, but many of us have a long history of responding to these epidemics on Twitter. And again, overlooked.

Well, look at the source. Literally the paper of record for the patriarchy.

And why are so many not ID epidemiologists or ID physicians? Of course the majority of ID docs are females, so a shift to including ID experts would help with inclusion (hopefully)

Women are overrepresented in epidemiology overall, as well. But go on and interview all the computer scientists and stats bros with no epi training (let alone ID epi training)

I completely agree. Not a scientist - just a woman concerned about equal participation for female people in #STEM (and everywhere else!). Don't like the term "cis"' though. Many women find it offensive. Biological sex is a physical and POLITICAL reality, not a state of mind.

Why don't you talk about the actual cure? Then someone might take you seriously.
