People can become antivaccine, even if they weren’t in the past. Claiming #vaccines cause autism and there’s a conspiracy up hide it is “mainstream” antivaccine, well within the movement’s tenets. If you’re going there, you’re antivaccine.

I see it as a dog whistle to his antivax constituents. His backtracking likely scored pts w/them, validating their conspiracy beliefs abt how ppl like him (speaking up in their eyes) have to cave to pressure from medical/public health community. At least Lamar Alexander retorted.

We live in a science dark age where conspiracy theories trump scientific facts and consensus opinions. Maybe we should actually make schools a place of learning- more chemistry, less football.
