To debate, I guess. Logic cames from episteme logike: the science of propotitions. Is that right @Skye_Cleary @anitaleirfall ?

Right. Logic (in the stricter sense) concerns propositions and the relation between them.

A detailed analysis of what is Logic,Reason&Reasoning is an urgent need of the day, other than scholastic studies on its development: https://isreasonasenseorgan.blogspot.com.au/?m=1

General relativity is an empirical (not deduced from axioms) construction essentially equivalent to curve-fitting models. Here Michel Janssen describes endless empirical groping, fudging and fitting until "excellent agreement with observation" was reached: https://netfiles.umn.edu/users/janss011/home%20page/EBms.pdf …pic.twitter.com/9WxS3Mtgi7

Einstein's (valid) definition of theory in physics: "a system of thought which, in general, is built up logically from a small number of fundamental assumptions, the so-called axioms." https://www.marxists.org/reference/archive/einstein/works/1910s/relative/ap03.htm … If the definition is disobeyed, the "theory" is not even wrong.

"By a theory I shall mean the deductive closure of a set of theoretical postulates together with an appropriate set of auxiliary hypotheses; that is, everything that can be deduced from this set." p. 199 http://cdn.preterhuman.net/texts/thought_and_writing/philosophy/rationality%20of%20science.pdf … Deduction: The only correct method in physics.

Except for special relativity which is deductive (axiomatic), modern fundamental physics consists of empirical models. "Guessing the equation" (Feynman), followed by guessing the fudge factor. The only correct method in fundamental physics:pic.twitter.com/oMpKdmMj0O

Sorry. Special relativity would look like deductive, but its premises are not sound. So you know the consequences. If the premises are not true, the conclusion cannot be true.
