Had a second read of this and the implications are very interesting. But don't the theories on behavior cover this? Our behavior is definitely shaped by past experiences of the world.

To say that our actions are taken not by our own choice but by the effect of the objects of past experiences seems like an unnecessary attempt to do away with the self and consciousness. If this is true, what is the purpose of the brain and it's trillions of neurons?
