        The multiverse theory has merit inasmuch as it keeps our thinking flexible, but no other merit that I can see. It seems wildly impractical.

        You make a good point that this might merely be a simple case of failure in scientific writing. Let’s not forget that this explanation isn’t any crazier than the collapsing realities theory! In fact, I think it became an alternative because it makes more sense

        An important part of science is the ability to play with possibilities. Not every claim needs to be verifiable at the point of utterance. Really, logical positivism is out of fashion for half a century, and for good reasons.
