So: "physicists should leave philosophy of science to the pros" and basically 'remain silent' (see last sentence)... hmmmm

Unless they want to do the work of learning philsci. Like philosophers of science need to learn physics, or biology.

@mpigliucci is absolutely right. Beauty is a human value, not an independent property of the universe. But so is truth. Truth is a human-dependent epitemic-linguistic property, not a property of the universe in-itself. "Truth is beautiful" is poetic, but ultimately meaningless.Thanks. Feynman said (on multiple occasions): "It doesn't matter how beautiful your theory is, it doesn't matter how smart you are. If it doesn't agree with experiment, it's wrong." This was his central observation.

There's absolute truth in science. Of the two statements Speed of light is invariable. Speed of light is variable. one is absolutely true, the other is false. Cruel brainwashing can eliminate the absolute truth, even if it's obvious, for a long time (see GIF) but not forever.pic.twitter.com/4sPMKAj3Yb

Sure, but how would one know the truth of these statements?
