Information Minister-designate, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah proposed an anti-LGBT Advocacy law in Ghana, that may take away Freedom of Speech & Expression from LGBTQ Ghanaians & their allies.
Says this without being asked a direct question on LGBT. Watch to the end. Shameful

, we fell shy sef. In this 2021, a government official is thinking of creating censorship laws that will prevent LGBT human rights advocacy in Ghana? Such deplorable thought.

It's sad that we have homophobes applauding Kojo Oppong Nkrumah's proposal of anti-LGBTQ Advocacy law. If they succeed in bringing a censorship law, they can make a law to silence ANYONE on ANY ISSUE, in the name of "public morality, public order and national security."
So sad.

NPP government could tomorrow create a censorship law against NDC members. NDC government may also do same against NPP members on any issue they deem to be against "public morality, public order, and national security".
This is a serious threat to ALL Ghanaians.

This is a threat to the Freedom of Speech and Expression for all Ghanaians, as enshrined in our constitution.
If they can silence LGBTQ human rights activists/advocates and their allies, they can use the same tactics against anyone and on any issue they don't care about.

This is our statement, as we are concerned this may lead to an increase in homophobia against the LGBTQ community in Ghana.

They should pass the law with immediate effect to stop the foolish things the EU wants to do

If such a law passes, another government or same one, may use it as a precedent to create a law to silence you or ANYONE from speaking out about things you are associated with and matters to you.
Censorship is a threat to your own right of Freedom of Speech and Expression!
